COMOX VALLEY FITNESS TRANSFORMATION

Carolyn Armstrong - 2nd Week Update

Progress Report
By Chris Ketch of BodyNetix

Carolyn's starting her third week of training with me. Her progress to date has been excellent. In our first session together we tested her strength on various exercises. From there I took her test results and developed 2 full body work outs that we could rotate back and forth between. Carolyn's full body resistance training programs are intended to increase lean muscle while improving strength and mobility. In order to keep Carolyn's heart rate elevated through out her work out I have limited her rest times. This continuously elevated heart rate is going to allow Carolyn to burn more calories and thus reduce her body fat.

To date Carolyn's strength, balance and power has increased at an impressive rate. Her training is currently being done in the 12-15 rep range as to increase her endurance and overall strength. From here I plan on reducing her repetition range to 6-8. This will further develop her strength and power while providing a much different stimulus on her various muscle groups. Strength is key to Carolyn's success as her profession and personal life require heavy lifting and moving.

I see Carolyn three times a week for our resistance training sessions. In addition to that Carolyn is doing cardiovascular interval training 2-3 times a week and participating in an additional 1-2 group classes.

Carolyn's determination and commitment is second to none. She comes with a boat full of enthusiasm and optimism to every session. Her ability to make it to every scheduled session and put forth the effort she does is nothing short of motivational. Anyone looking to start a fitness program but feel they are too busy or not ready for it could really find inspiration in Carolyn. The adversity and challenges Carolyn face in every day life is far more than most of us could even imagine yet she still remains focused and positive. As a personal trainer and fitness consultant it is my job to help spark motivation and provide inspiration but it is Carolyn who has truly inspired me because no matter how difficult I may think I have it I know that it pails in comparison to what Carolyn overcomes each and every day.

Keep up the great work Carolyn!
