Certified strength trainer and personal fitness leader through British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), Megan has been training in the Comox Valley for the past 4 1/2 years and a resident for a total of 18 years. Over the years her personal training has allowed her to work with a variety of people from all different ages & levels of health and fitness.

Megan has been in the competitive world of fitness for 2 ½ years now. She competes as a figure/fitness model and after a first place finish in April 2008, she proudly promotes her Pro Card status with FAME.

"I encourage people to set goals with their health and fitness. Sometimes taking the extra time to figure out what that goal might be can give you the added motivation to get there. Adding a trainer to your program is always extra motivation, no matter what fitness level you're at. Whether it's adding variety, teaching you completely new ideas/skills, or helping out with nutritional guidance, sometimes it's the only thing to give you that push to get started again (or for the first time!) and see results.

Megan is a proud promoter of healthy lifestyles, injury & disease prevention and athletic excellence and is looking forward to meeting new clients at CV Fitness and within the community.

I believe fitness is the true fountain of youth, spending time exercising will pay huge dividends to those that are consistent. Listed are a few of the benefits:

  • improves your mood.
  • combats chronic diseases.
  • boosts your energy level.
  • promotes better sleep.
  • can put the spark back into your sex life.
  • helps you manage your weight.

A person who takes the time to exercise, is a person who understand balance in life.

I mean how much sense does it make to work hard all your life and then when your ready to retire and enjoy the golden years, your body breaks down because you have ignored it and not focused on keeping it strong, or your heart gives out because you never thought to exercise or your arteries are clogged because you never put in the proper fuel.

Exercise should be mandatory in society!

Unfortunately people use many excuses to avoid exercise:

  • I have no time (20 minutes a day of intense exercise is all it will take)
  • I'm too tired (exercising will give you more energy)
  • It's so expensive (if you commit, it will cost you $1 per day)
  • I'll do it tomorrow (if you just walk through the doors, you will get it done!)
  • I play sports (exercise will make you better at every sport you do and prevent all kinds of injuries)
  • What will I do with the kids (most facilities have babysitting)
  • I tried before and they just want my money (we do want you money, we are in business but will give you great results)
  • I saw no results (you need a proper assessment and program, which increases the intensity of your program every two weeks)
  • When I tried last time it was so painful I couldn't move the next day (going too hard in the beginning is a common fault of newbies)
  • I have too many injuries(injuries can be rehabilitated with proper instruction
  • The gym's full of muscle heads( the majority of gym users are everyday people who want to live a long, healthy life)
  • I didn't know what to do( more and more people use personal training or coaching which can be as little as $66 per month)
  • I'm sure there's many more excuses that I have not listed.

The bottom line is I'm passionate about fitness and I will do my best to make your time at CV Fitness as enjoyable as possible. My staff and I will help you reach all your fitness goals!
